Penile Girth Enhancement FAQ
Girth Enhancement 101 Questions
What is girth?
“Girth” is a term referring to the width of the penis measured by circumference. The average girth of a non-erect penis is 3.67 inches in circumference, while the average girth of an erect penis is 4.49 inches. In addition, the average length of a non-erect penis is 3.61 inches, and the average length of an erect penis is 5.21 inches.
Recent studies from the University of Texas have shown that 90% of male partners prefer an increase in penile girth (width) over an increase in length.
What is penile girth enhancement?
Penile girth enhancement, also known as penile augmentation or thickening, refers to any surgical or non-surgical procedure that increases the circumference of your erect penis.
At Dallas Men's Health, we perform this procedure using GirthPro, an exclusive technique available only at our clinic. GirthPro utilizes safe, FDA-approved hyaluronic acid—the same material used for decades in dermal fillers.

Why choose non-surgical girth enhancement?
Compared to other enhancement techniques such as implants or surgery, fillers offer a quicker recovery with minimal downtime. The procedure uses local anesthesia to minimize discomfort, and results are noticeable immediately.
Can penile girth enhancement improve my sex life?
Increased girth can lead to greater sexual satisfaction for you and your partner. Your penis will look and feel completely natural while being much larger. Female partners have noticed a much more satisfying sexual experience, as vaginal tissue can become looser over time, and the increased girth of the male partner drastically improves sensation during intercourse.
Remember, girth enhancement doesn't address erectile dysfunction or other sexual performance issues–however, it can provide a boost in self-confidence that may serve you well in the bedroom!

Can I get nonsurgical penis enlargement if I am not circumcised, have a penile implant or Peyronie's disease?
Yes! In fact, Dr. Wierschem has treated many men like this with excellent results. Men with indentations of their penile tissue from Peyronie's disease or penile injuries look entirely normal after girth enhancement in these areas.
Is the GirthPro procedure permanent?
No, it is not permanent. We do not offer permanent procedures as they are typically associated with much higher complication rates and poor outcomes. In fact, we perform penile corrections frequently on patients who have had permanent procedures through our ErectionCorrection program. Dr. Wierschem does not offer any procedure that would not have done himself.
Does the GirthPro procedure cause ED or loss of sensation
No. Although there are some reports of these issues, Dr. Wierschem has never had a patient complain of ED or loss of sensation from his technique.
What is the cost? Do you offer financing?
The cost depends on how many syringes you need. We do offer good discounts for higher volumes. We also have several excellent financing options available. Please contact us to learn more.
Procedure and Recovery Questions
How is a penile girth enlargement procedure performed?
Dr. Wierschem is a Board-Certified Urologist with over 25 years' experience of surgical training in male genitalia. He has specialized training in penile girth enhancement and has successfully performed many procedures over several years.
First, a local anesthetic is used to numb the area to be injected. The filler will then be infused into the tissues around the penile shaft. The penis will be massaged to smooth out the filler. The entire procedure will take approximately 15 – 30 minutes.
Dr. Wierschem does NOT recommend treatment of the penile head (or glans). It can result in abnormal appearance, discomfort and typically does not last more than a few months.
Does it hurt?
Most patients experience little to no discomfort. Dr. Wierschem applies a lidocaine (numbing) cream to the tissue prior to the procedure. The filler that is injected also has lidocaine in it, so the procedure is essentially painless.
Does Dr. Wierschem use needles during the procedure?
Absolutely not! One of the most dangerous complications from penile enhancement is from injection of the filler into a vein, artery or lymphatic. This can result in penile necrosis (tissue death). Dr. Wierschem only uses a blunt cannula to infuse the filler and does this through only 2-3 entry sites to minimize bleeding, trauma and swelling. Because of this, Dr. Wierschem has never had an issue with penile necrosis, although he has taken care of several patients who suffered this terrible complication from other providers.
Can I have a P-shot or other ED treatment at the same time as the GirthPro procedure?
Yes, in most cases. There are rare exceptions, however. Dr. Wierschem can discuss the details with you at the time of the procedure.
Are there any side effects?
Temporary side effects like swelling, bruising and mild discomfort are possible. These typically resolve within a few days. A consultation with our urologist can address any specific concerns you may have.
Will I be erect while the procedure is performed?
Yes, this is an important part of the GirthPro procedure. An erect penis helps the surgeon find the tissue planes better for the absolute best filler placement and subsequent improved cosmetic outcome. It also allows for the entire penile shaft to be treated instead of only the flaccid shaft. A very important fact for patients who are "growers - not showers".
Is there anything I need to do after the procedure?
We recommend Neosporin the sides of the penis twice a day for the first 3 days. Dr. Wierschem will instruct you after the procedure on how to massage and mold your penis to create a smooth appearance if needed.
How long do I have to wait to have sex again?
Following a GirthPro girth enhancement procedure, it's generally recommended to wait 5 to 7 days before resuming sexual activity. This allows sufficient time for the filler to settle and the injection site to heal properly.
However, the exact timeframe can vary depending on your individual healing process. Dr. Wierschem will provide specific instructions based on your recovery progress during your follow-up appointment.
How long will I wait between my consultation and procedure?
Very little time at all! In fact, most of our patients have the procedure done on the same day as the consultation.
Can I use my pump after this procedure?
Yes, you can use your pump after the product has "matured". Dr. Wierschem will discuss this with you in detail at the time of the procedure.
Questions About the Results
What will the results be like?
You will notice an increase in penis size immediately after the procedure. Usually, 0.5–1 inch of width improvement after your initial treatment. This new width will be present when your penis is erect as well as when it is not erect. The improved width lasts over 2 years in most patients.
The filler that is placed looks and feels natural–in fact, new partners will likely not be able to tell you've had this procedure done. Some patients may need a “touch-up” procedure and many more desire to have more filler placed for an even larger penis.
Will this also increase the length of my penis?
Girth enhancement will not increase penile length. There are a few things you can use to create some length, including a vacuum device and traction device. Dr. Wierschem also offers non-surgical penile lengthening.
Some doctors do offer surgical penile lengthening; however, this is ill advised. Many of these procedures result in complications, poor outcomes and unhappy patients. Remember, over 90% of male partners prefer increased penile girth over length!
Will the procedure affect my erections or sensation?
Dr. Wierschem has never had a patient describe erectile dysfunction or sensation loss after this procedure. Although complications are possible, research has shown that they occur in less than 0.006% of patients. Most patients and their partners notice an improvement in their sensation from the increased friction during intercourse.
How much bigger will I get?
The GirthPro procedure will provide approximately 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch of circumferential girth for every 8-10 syringes utilized. Every patient is different, however and this can better be addressed at the time of the procedure.
What makes GirthPro better than other procedures?
The GirthPro technique has been developed over the past several years by Dr. Wierschem after treating thousands of patients and perfecting the best procedure possible. It requires only 2 entry points and does not utilize any needles removing any risk of penile necrosis. This procedure is safer, painless and bloodless resulting in much better cosmetic outcomes. It is also 100% reversible.
